Feeling stuck on how to prioritise and build your HR strategy?

You're not alone.

We've made this short, guided assessment of where your People function is today, how ready it is for what's coming (including AI, the word on everyone's lips), and where the business wants to go. You'll paint your week, rank your priorities against your leadership team's, and finish with a prioritised roadmap sized to what your team can actually ship over the next 12 months.

We'll give you further reading, podcasts that may help, and an AI prompt to turn your strategy into a useable deck to present to leadership for what's to come.

What we mean by "strategy"

Strategy is the small set of deliberate choices about where to focus people, money, and time to win, and what you will deliberately not do. Strategic work is anything that shapes those choices: workforce planning, analysis, designing frameworks, aligning leadership. Running the process is operations; deciding what the process should be is strategy.

What to have handy before you start
  • Rough numbers: company headcount, HR team size, and a revenue band.
  • Your last 12 months of leavers — who left, and your best sense of why.
  • A feel for how your working week actually gets spent.
  • The company strategy, even as a one-liner, and what leadership is worried about.
  • Optional: recent engagement survey results or exit interview notes.

Rough answers are fine — directionally right beats precisely wrong.
